 This intensive 16-week orientation course is designed to upgrade students' English proficiency and reshape their foundational knowledge across the four core language skills. The primary objective is to prepare students for the rigorous demands of future advanced academic programs. Utilizing the Unlock Second Edition series, the curriculum is built around six thematic units—People, Seasons, Lifestyles , Jobs, Homes and buildings, Food and culture —selected for their relevance in building essential vocabulary and conceptual understanding.

Skill Focus:
A balanced approach is taken with a special emphasis on reinforcing each skill area for academic preparation:

Reading & Writing: The reading component focuses on developing intensive and extensive reading skills, with a major emphasis on reading strategies, vocabulary building, and extracting key information. These skills are directly applied to structured writing tasks.

Listening & Speaking: The listening component practices comprehension of main ideas and specific details. The speaking component aims to build oral fluency and confidence, with a focus on formulating and responding to questions effectively.
